Internal Complaint Committee

Elijah  Institute  of  Management Studies,  Thrissur has  set up  Internal  Complaint Committee for maintaining the healthy and  safe environment for girls and  women employees in the campus.

Objective

• To create a healthy environment in the campus where  every  woman feels safe and self-confident without any problems relating to gender discrimination and sexual harassment.

Functions of ICC

• To address the informal  and  formal  complaints of any  female  employee or student as specified  in the objectives of the cell.
• To ensure the fair and  timely resolution of the complaints.
• To provide counselling and support services  on our campus.
• To  promote   awareness   about  sexual    harassment   through   educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a respectful learning work environment.

The students of Elijah lnstitute of Management Studies  can lodge a complaint with an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) directly  with any  member of the  committee (ICC faculty member or ICC student member)  or call on this mobile no. 9846732202 or 04872693444. There will be immediate response and action will be taken immediately.

Complaint Procedure

• Any  woman  (faculty/ non-teaching  staff,  girl  students  suffering  from  the problems of sexual  harassment or gender  discrimmation have  to submit the complaint either  by formally  in  writing or informally  to any  members  of the cell. These  complaints will be discussed and  resolved by the WGC members. Wherever  appropriate  &  necessary   the  matter shall  be  referred  to  higher authorities for necessary action.
• All complaints will be handled in a confidential manner  within a time bound framework.

Current status

The  committee meetings are  called  regularly to ensure  everything goes  as per standard without any sort of discrimination or harassment of women. The committee had 3 sittings  during the year.

Key decisions and implemented programmes

• Celebrate International  Women’s Day-  On  March  8, 2024,  the  institute celebrated women’s day with all student gathering. Various  cultural programmes and fun games were organized.
• As part of  Eleganza,   the  annual   management meet,  a  ‘Flashmob’  was organized at various  parts  of Thrissur  city  enlightening the  viewers  on’Gender equality’
• Mrs. Molcy, employee who has been working for more  than 25 years  was congratulated by Chairman

• The committee regularly checks the cleanliness of wash rooms, availability of sanitary pads  in  vending machines,  menstrual  holiday   for girl.  and women employees and  gender  equality  in all aspects  of programmes in campus
• The committee also  ensures the availability  of sick rooms  in  the event  of requirement for any female in ELIMS campus.
